This ring draws from drum forms used in Miao ceremonial traditions, where circular bodies and sectional divisions shape the instrument’s outline. The design adapts these elements into a compact format suited to the scale of a ring.
The drum-derived form is placed above the band, maintaining a balanced outline and measured geometry. Made in 990 silver through coiled filigree techniques, the ring retains the defined contours characteristic of this method.
The piece presents a long-standing structural motif in a distilled modern interpretation, maintaining clear reference to its traditional context.
